Facilities/Guidelines
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday between 9:00 AM to 6.30 PM during the high season (April to October) and between 9:00 AM to 5.30 PM during the low season (November to March). The Estate of Trianon is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 12:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
The Versailles Palace is closed every Monday, 25 December and 1 January.
It takes at least 2-3 hours to see the main palace. Keep aside one hour for the elaborate gardens and 2 hours for Marie Antoinette’s Estate.
If you plan to avoid the crowds, it is best to visit the palace during the week. Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest days while Wednesdays and Thursdays are relatively less crowded. The earlier, the better. It is advisable to visit the estate close to opening hours as it not only gives you a headstart but also allows you to avoid peak hour rush.
Another way to avoid the crowds and enjoy the cool winter is to visit during the off season, between November to March. Expect maximum crowd during the summer months between July and August.
It is located at Place d'Armes, 78000 Versailles, France, less than 40 minutes from Paris.
