About the Stands
About the Stands
Absheron Grandstand A: This grandstand overlooks the pits complex on the start-finish straight and the first corner. This angle is best suited if you want to watch the race build-up, pits action, and the celebrations at the podium when the race ends. This corner is where all the overtaking happens plus it is the only covered grandstand in Baku.
Absheron Grandstand B: The seats here are located towards the west end of the grandstand. This grandstand is the perfect place to watch all the action in the pit lane and witness the drivers' battle to overtake.
Absheron Grandstand C: Located in the middle of the grandstand on the lower levels, Absheron Grandstand C offers great views of the checkered flag and the pit walls.
Absheron Grandstand D: If you are somebody who wants to witness all the pit lane action and watch your favorite drivers hold their nerve to break for the first corner, then Absheron Grandstand D, located towards the east end of the grandstand, is perfect for you.
Azneft Grandstand: The AzNeft grandstand is located on the exterior of the track. Here, the best seats are in the left portion of the stand which offers a great view of the approach on the short preceding straight. The seats on the right give you a brief view of the cars before they accelerate towards the Maiden Tower and the long main straight.
Bulvar Grandstand: Located opposite the Khazar grandstand is the Bulvar grandstand which is known for its momentous atmosphere. Situated close to the Museum Center, within the blue zone, this is just a short walk from the Shil metro station.
Filarmoniya Grandstand: Filarmonia Grandstand is located on the interior of the track at turn 16 which makes it an excellent vantage point to see the incredible breaking ability of a modern Formula 1 car. Witness possible overtaking here as well.
Icheri Sheher Grandstand: The grandstand offers a spectacular view of the cars as the drivers drift right. Marvel at how close the drivers get to clipping the inside barrier at the corner’s apex before roaring away around the Old City. The beautiful backdrop of the fortress walls makes those Instagram pics look pretty.
Khazar Grandstand: The Khazar Grandstand is positioned near turn 6 separating cars by only a thing fencing or barrier beginning the lap going in one direction and cars going in the other direction towards the end of the lap.
Mugham Grandstand: A great vantage point where the Formula 1 cars pass each other in opposite directions. Immediately in front of the grandstand is the main straight and not too far away is the short burst of a straight between turns 6 and 7 that allows you to see the cars exiting and entering these corners.
Sahil Grandstand: Just beside the Bulvar grandstand is the Sahil grandstand. To be more precise, it lies along the long main straight just opposite the turn 5 and 6 chicanes. The view from here is quite clear, and because the main straight is inches away from you, quite close as well.

This day gives the drivers a chance to experiment with the tires, fuel loads, and settings.
5pm to 6pm
In the Qualifying Session, all 20 F1 drivers participate, each trying to set the fastest time possible. Those in the top 15 move on to the next qualifying round called Q2. This is to determine the order of the lineup for the race day.
