A cultural landmark
The Prado Museum is a site of huge national and global importance. Occupying an 18th-century neoclassical building, the museum is home to over 20,000 works of art. Including 7,500 paintings, 8,000 drawings, 4,800 prints, and 1,000 sculptures and other artworks and historical documents.
Bypass the arduous ticketing queue and, after a brief security check, you are free to roam Prado's galleries. The exhibits on display are spread over 3 levels: basement, first, and second.
Choose your own path
You can explore the museum's galleries for as long as you like. Some of the greats whose works adorn the walls are Francisco Goya, El Greco, Diego Velazquez, Hieronymus Bosch, Peter Paul Rubens, and Titian. Download an app and get a complete overview of Western art and 24 key art pieces.
Learn about the inspiration behind masterpieces like Las Meninas with an optional on-site digital audio guide in English and Spanish.
