We had no waiting time. A very informative day with the audio guide. In contrast to Rome, a real excavation site with lots of explanation. We enjoyed it 👍View original review in GermanGabriel

The ruins are a real wonder, very well preserved, there were hardly any people and we could enjoy the beautiful, the purchase of tickets perfect for this page, although they could have been purchased at the box office because there was no queue, at least the day we went, a Tuesday at noon. Highly recommended experience, you can not go to Rome and not see the ancient city of Ostia antica, where is the port of Trajan to which came almost all the grain that came to Rome.View original review in SpanishGloria

We visited Antica Ostia. Purchased our tickets through Headout. We were a bit confused about what the tickets purchased. Whether we were having a guide and where to enter the park. Once we figured this out it was an amazing site to visit.Lesley

It's an amazing site. Lovely gift shop and snack bar. However was very disappointed that the entire museum was closed. Couldn't a least a part of it be open? Thank you
Located merely 30km away from Rome, Ostia Antica is a massive, 100-hectare archaeological park that was once a harbor city. During ancient Rome, the city grew significantly. Ostia earned its name ('os' translates to 'mouth' in Latin) thanks to its proximity to the river Tiber. When the harbor started silting up during the 2nd century CE, the city was abandoned and eventually fell into neglect.
With your ticket to the archaeological park, you get to explore the many excavations of this well-preserved city. These include a theatre, several houses, baths, and temples, as well as countless mosaics and frescoes. In case you start wondering where the sea is during your visit, remember that because of the changing coastlines, it is now a few kilometers away.
