Our wonderful guide, although I can't remember her name. She made the whole experience enjoyable and spent time making sure we all understood the artwork. As we couldn't talk during the Sistine chapel part, she made sure to find a quiet area in the gallery first to explain all the paintings within the area. As it was raining that day it was nice to be in the warmth while other tour guides were outside. While going through the gallery and explaing the artwork she made sure to add personal touches, such as telling us her favourite sculpture in the Basilica was the Pieta. When we come back to Rome I would love to take another tour with her, I'm sorry I don't remember her name.

The guide was superb and brought the site and place alive with lots of good stories keeping us all engaged. He was able to dodge queues or skip lines too - for example the access to the Sistine Chapel was closed, he spoke to the attendant and we were in!

The fact that the initial meeting point was so clearly described and that the tour itself was clearly and informatively delivered allowed my family and me to simply enjoy the phenomenol sights and atmosphere of the Vatican.

Only four on tour - great. Guide a bit grumpy but really came alive with passion when telling us about Michaelangelo. Really knew her art. She focused on key pieces which I loved. Would have liked more about Gallery of maps (such an amazing art work) but guess that's just my thing. Overall worth every penny for her expertise. Thank you.

We took a guided tour with a wonderful guide: Nice voice, passionate about the Vatican, History, Architecture and Art. She helped us all see the Sistine Chapel and pointed out interesting the history and also compared to the other chapels and art. Great guide.

What's not allowed

Strict dress code: knees, shoulders, and back must be covered for all guests.
Big bags and suitcases aren't allowed inside the attraction, but guests can make use of the lockers on site.
Since complete silence is to be observed within the walls of the Sistine Chapel according to the rules of the Vatican, the guides will provide you with information about the site outside the Chapel. Visitors are to maintain silence within the Chapel as well.
Photography and the use of mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the Sistine Chapel.
Pets and other small animals are not allowed in the venue, except guide dogs.

Accessibility

This experience is not accessible by wheelchair and pram/strollers.
While the tour is not accessible, the Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (certified invalidity exceeding 74%) and a companion.

Please note: All guests must pass through airport-style security. During high season and peak hours, the wait time at the security check may be up to 30 minutes.
The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel will remain closed on Sun.
