The guide Kryztof was very nice and he explained all the interesting facts about life in the mine. We will definitely recommend this visit to everyone. It was amazing to see how deep was the mine and the chambers over there.

Visiting the saltmine was really a unique experience and well worth a visit. The lady who guided us was very attentive and informative and she skillfully managed a small group of Polish speaking visitors along with the larger group of English speaking. Unfortunately the hotel transfer was not good. The point we were asked to go for pick up did not have any signage at all so very confusing. The driver turned up on time but she did not speak any English. When we arrived at the salt mine we were told to go and come back to a meeting point in 20 minutes. It was very unclear where we were to meet after the tour, so we walked back to the car park and found the driver there.

I had to split up our group after booking and the Customer Service reps I spoke to were really helpful and my request was met. Our van driver was terrific- he returned to pick up some of our group who went to the wrong pickup location. Our guide was lovely and knowledgeable. The mine was remarkable! Don't miss this when you visit Krakow!

Walking through different chambers and tunnels, you’ll listen to fascinating insights about the mine’s mining history and legends from the guide. In the salt chambers, you'll come across intricate salt sculptures, an underground lake, and the magnificent Chapel of St. Kinga, also crafted by the miners entirely from salt. More highlights include the 'Last Supper' bas-relief and exquisite salt creations like chandeliers, altarpieces, and life-sized figures, all showcasing remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Bring a light jacket as the mine stays cold at around 14-16°C.
Wear comfortable shoes as there is plenty of walking involved.

Large luggage is not allowed inside the mine, except for hand baggage with maximum dimensions of 35cm x 20cm x 20cm.

This tour is only partly wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.

Additional information

This tour is not recommended for participants with walking disabilities as there are 800 steps on the way, including 380 right at the start.
A moderate level of physical fitness is required to comfortably navigate the tour.
The tour is also not recommended for individuals with claustrophobia, as the experience takes place in enclosed underground spaces.
